About

The Multimedia Evangelist is an information source I created that addresses and comments on the dramatic changes occurring in photography and photojournalism today. Whenever possible I want to “evangelize” and promote what’s occurring in the field and in education to help photojournalists through this change. You can reach me at: dn15@txstate.edu

Who is this guy? He teaches courses in visual communication and visual literacy, publication design, and photojournalism to more than 800 undergraduate students every year. He has presented research on education and journalism across the country and is currently working on research in photojournalism and professional development, and a video documentary on changes in the profession of photojournalism over the past 20 plus years.

He is the associate editor of the Southwestern Mass Communication Journal (SWMCJ), a biannual scholarly journal published by the Southwest Education Council for Journalism and Mass Communication, a judge for numerous national press association contests, and guest speaker and lecturer at workshops and classrooms around Texas.
